Been playing around with the idea of cutting out paper letters on our Stencil Cutting Machine.
I painted this old chest in Annie Sloan Graphite then decoupaged on some cut out letters – I tinted some of the letters with watered down Louis Blue and English Yellow. I applied a few coats of Annie Sloan Decoupage to ‘lose’ the edges of the paper so it feels smooth id you run your fingers over the surface.
I then applied the 2-part Annie Sloan Craqueleur to help give it an authentic aged look, the Clear and Dark Wax helped accentuate the cracks and also helped protect the surface.
I’m very happy with the finished result – you’d be hard pressed to realise the typography has been stuck on. What do you think?
