This had a large panel missing from the top – which I had to repair with plyboard (although you wouldn’t know it now) The top and the sides I gave 2 coats of Chalk Paint, the front I only gave one as I knew I wanted to take off quite a bit to give it a nice aged look. I did not prime, prep or sand down at all before hand – unless you call wiping over with a cloth to clean off dust, prep. It helps that it’s a lovely looking piece with some carved detail. This was avery heavy hard wood cabinet, which had drawers in at one time – campaign chest perhaps? – The Clear and especially the Dark wax help give it character – but you’ve got to get the balance right, the more you do it, the easier it gets I find.
