First time I’ve tried this – Brass leaf using a Dovetails stencil, and it works!
I thought this box needed something extra after being painted in Annie Sloan Emperor’s Silk, so, using one of our stencils and being very careful when applying the Gold Size we ended up with a ‘sticky’ image which we applied Brass leaf to in the normal manner.
Finished off with Clear and Dark Wax to protect – I think this technique could be applied in lots of painty projects.
To finish off I’ve used a map stuck to cardboard for a neat lining inside the box – gives it a nice professional feel.
